Synopsis
Asian economies are coming of age. The boundless energies seen in local entrepreneurs with visions to stand shoulder-to- shoulder with their counterparts in the west only epitomises this aspect. Emergence of the Asian Wealthly on the back of the burgeoning economies of Asia Pacific has created an atmosphere of exuberence for Private Bankers. Starting with a low penetration rate for private banking services, this environment creates large opportunities of growth for the industry. China and India are spearheading this momentum and banks are learning to adopt their business models to the ways of doing business there. Though North Asia has the largest potential for wealth management business, Private Bankers are keen on further entering white spots in South East Asia as it presents pockets of opportunities to grow.

To succeed in private banking in Asia a keen eye on regulatory compliant processes, costs and IT have to be integrated into each bank's business plan.
